Makropad

Original Repo

Makropad is my attempt at a custom macropad, inspired by the Stream Deck Plus. It uses Kaith Choc v2 switches, 2 encoders, powered by a RP2040.

Challenges

I ran into a couple challenges while designing makropad, namely which switches and LEDs I should use. I ended up switching from Cherry MX to Gateron Low Profile and finally to Choc v2 switches, with each iteration requiring painstakingly rerouting a LOT of traces. At this point, i've probably spent over 50 hours obsessing over every trace in the PCB.
