Riceathon

A Wayland + EndevourOS Customization

Customize a Linux Distro, get programmer socks and a rubber ducky

A upcoming Hack Club YSWS where you can rice your Linux desktop and submit your dotfiles to get free programmer socks

So What is Rice / Ricing?

The term ‘rice’ is used to describe a person’s unix deskton where ‘ricing’ is when someone is custom their desktop such as the icons, panels, or system interface. When it comes to ricing a tiling window manager though, the ricing of a user’s system becomes much more involved. Basic things such as the panel bar and application launcher must be configured by the user.

How the process works

  1. You customize your Linux desktop (1 hour minimum)
  2. Record your hours with Hackatime
  3. You submit it to us in a PR
  4. Get sent programmer socks!
  5. You also get entered into a gallery where people will vote on what the best rice is for bonus prizes!
